Safe automated and interconnected driving using self-updating maps in the heart of berlin.

In the pursuit of defining standards and techniques for safe driverless cars, the potential of shared self-updating digital maps as a basis for automated and interconnected driving is being researched. The state of Berlin and project partners from various companies and institutes are working on this together in the project "SAFARI" with coordinatory support from BLIC.

Research is being conducted under real-life circumstances in the Reinickendorf district, where three key technologies can be developed and tested: high precision digital maps, modern infrastructure and high (real-time) connectivity.
