MaaS VBB - Support with the conceptualisation of a MaaS system
Project description
Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) is a term that has not yet been uniformly defined. The interpretation is correspondingly diverse. In general, MaaS systems combine several mobile service providers (MSPs) on one platform or in one app. This gives the user the opportunity to be intermodally mobile within one app. MaaS offers the possibility of adding further services and making them available to the user. However, as MaaS does not offer a business case, the implementations are often incomplete. As different as the resulting solutions are, so are their strengths and weaknesses.
The project aims to conceptualise a MaaS system based on the VBB's mission statement. The concept is to be clearly defined and specifically adapted to previously defined target groups. The MaaS system should offer added value for the user and be perceived as a genuine alternative. The system serves to strengthen public transport and sharing services.
Service description
Comprehensive market research serves as the basis for the further course of the project. Weaknesses and strengths in relation to the company's own mission statement can be derived from the existing offerings. The research also serves as information material for possible offers within a MaaS system. A workshop with local authority representatives will be used to gather further insights that can be used to adapt the mission statement. From the findings gathered, it will be possible to develop a concept that will move the region forward.
