RBL technical planning for BVG
Project description
Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) operates a computerised operations control system (RBL) to monitor and control operations and to generate real-time data to inform passengers about current transport services. The bus (BO) and tram (BS) operating branches are integrated into this RBL to varying degrees. After almost 20 years of operation, the existing systems are to be replaced by a product that is generally available on the market and will map both branches of operation in an overall system. Project components are the renewal of the central systems for monitoring, operational control and real-time data generation etc. and the equipping of the buses (approx. 1,950) and trams (approx. 500) with new on-board computer technology.
